It appears that all things are possible in space. If you like hot alien women in sexy outfits with weapons you might like “Queen of Outer Space”. The stars of the movie are Zsa Zsa Gabor as Talleah, Eric Fleming as Capt. Neal Patterson, Dave Willock as Lt. Mike Cruze, Laurie Mitchell as Queen Yllana, and Paul Birch as Prof. Konrad.

In 1985 on their way to a space station that orbits the Earth a spaceship with a crew of four is attacked. The space station is destroyed and the spaceship is diverted by an unknown force. The spaceship crashes. When the crew wakes up they find they are on Venus. Determining that Venus has the same gravity and atmosphere of Earth the men leave the ship go out for a walk. They end up in a jungle. The guys build a fire and settle down for the night.

The next day they wake up to find they are surrounded by armed sexy aliens in mini skirts and high heels. The aliens speak English. The prisoners are taken to the city of Kadir and Queen Yllana (Laurie Mitchell). The Queen and her council all wear masks. The Queen and her council decide that the Earth men are dangerous and intend to make war on Venus. They sentence the men to death. But Queen Yllana has more in mind. She plans on destroying Earth.

Talleah (Zsa Zsa Gabor) is a scientist who is also the leader of a resistance movement. She goes to the prisoners and tells them of the Queen’s hatred for men and her plans to destroy the earth. Together the Earth men and the Venusian resistance hatch a plan to stop the Queen and save Earth from devastation.

"Queen of Outer Space" was released in 1958 and was directed by Edward Bernds. What can I say? It’s another silly space movie about the objectification of women. The women are portrayed both as strong rulers of the planet yet still as sex objects. Women are running the planet just fine. They even have devastating weapons at their disposal. They are focused and strong. As soon as men show up they get dewy eyed and vague.

The movie is an illustration of the concept that science fiction movies are made for the male audience and not the female. Women whether they are from Earth or another planet are all in either mini skirts or leotards. They either wear high heels or are barefoot. And no matter where they come from they always wear lipstick.

Despite is misogynous undertones I liked it. The movie is typical of the average low budget “B” movie. If you liked “Cat-Women of the Moon” or “Missile to the Moon” or even “Abbott and Costello go to Mars”, this is basically similar.
