Many people are members of a local nudist colony. A man and his wife are members and often frequent the facility. One day the married couple decides to visit the camp. The camp has shuffleboard, volleyball, swimming pools, nightly bonfires and various other fresh air activities. At the camp there are two places to sleep, in what is called the barracks, or in Tahitian style huts down by the lake.
That night a woman sleeping in one of the huts is attacked and killed. The woman is found the next day in a swampy area near the lake. The police are called, and the woman’s body is taken away. No one has any information on what happened and there were no witnesses. The clients are deeply concerned but remain at the camp.
The next night, the young couple decides to stay at one of the huts. The wife is attacked by the creature. The husband tries to help and gets attacked himself and thrown into the lake. The wife runs and calls for help. The husband is taken to the hospital and the police launch a manhunt for the monster.
“The Beast that Killed Women” was released in 1965 and was directed by Barry Mahon. It is an American horror film and a nudie cutie. Mahon directed a bunch of these T&A films. This one was written by his wife Clelle. She wrote a few of Barry’s films as well as being a part of the script and continuity department on many of them.
This was one of the most boring nudie cuties ever. It’s mostly a bunch of boobs and backsides. I already have boobs, and a backside, so none of this interests me. Most of the time the men are wearing shorts, and the women are holding a towel in front of their crotches. Boobs are OK but pussies no. A lot of people are walking away from the camera, so you also see a lot of butts. Even though it is mostly female butts, there are a few male ones in there too.
Nudie cuties rely heavily on exploitation instead of acting or plot or anything else that makes a movie a movie. As with many nudie cuties, they may have been titillating when they were made, but nowadays you can see more provocative stuff on prime-time TV. The Victoria’s Secret fashion show is sexier than most nudie cutie movies, including this one. The only thing you don’t see on TV are female nipples.
The monster is, of course, a guy in a gorilla suit. I have no idea who the guy is in the suit. As for the characters, only one person has a name and that was the undercover policewoman, who was called Miss Johnson. Everyone else is referred to by whatever they are doing. For example, Girl by pool, Girl waiting to join camp, blond at bonfire, police detective etc, etc. Even the camp doesn’t have a name.
Altogether a rather disappointing horror movie and equally disappointing nudie cutie.
