“Ticks” was released in 1993 and was directed by Tony Randel. This is just a fun movie. If you can call blood, gore and green guts fun. If you have an aversion to creepy crawly things both big and small the name will keep you away from it, however, if you are a fan of big bug and/or little bug horror movies than this is right up your alley.
There is no real plot. A bunch of misfits out in the woods. A couple sleazy locals harassing them. A secret grove of pot plants being fed super juice. The super juice also feeding the ticks. The ticks get big and nasty, and really hungry.
The acting was OK. The dialogue Meh. The special effects, however, were great. Especially since this was before CGI became the rage. This is a classic “B” type movie from the 50”s and 60”s only updated for the 90’s with much blood, gore and goop. You’re gonna love it.
