Can you say SYFY channel “B” movie? Can you say Cheeze? Of course you can.

Off the coast of Mexico Carlos Santiago (Israel Saez de Miguel) is the captain of a fishing boat. He has a lucrative business dealing in contraband. Currently he is negotiating a deal on poached shark fins. It doesn't go well. During a shoot out between Carlos and the former potential buyers a storm comes up and through a bizarre weather phenomenon, due to climate change, a tornado sweeps up a swarm of sharks. The sharks are dumped on Carlos's boat.

Back at the beach, bar owner and surfer, Fin Shepared (Ian Ziering), thinking he is at the end of his career, is catching some waves. A cyclone containing a swarm of sharks comes up. Havoc is reeked. Tornados start popping up and sharks starts falling out of the sky eating people on the way down. The people in return start killing the sharks with whatever weapon is at hand. (101 uses for a chainsaw?)

Water floods inland and brings sharks with it. Fin is in desperate need to get to his ex-wife April Wexler (Tara Reid) and daughter Claudia (Aubrey Peeples). Sharks are swimming down the road. That’s about it. Oh yeah, and Tara Reid.

"Sharknado" was released in 2013 and was directed by Anthony C. Ferrante. It is an Asylum film made by the SYFY channel. Ferrante admits that he got the idea for the film from his son during a dinner conversation. Ferrante plays a man in the water at the beach who gets eaten by a shark.

The film is referred to as a black comedy. It contains many homages to Steven Spielberg's "Jaws" 1975 as well as other Spielberg movies. The best thing about this movie is how bad it is. Stupid plot, over acting, bizarre special effects, awful dialogue, campy characters. Everything you want in your guilty pleasure. Add to that great music and you’ve got yourself an afternoon of junk food and junk movie watching.
