Quark (Richard Benjamin) and his crew have been captured by Zorgon the Malevolent (Ross Martin). Zorgon believes that Quark has knowledge of something that Zorgon refers to as IT. IT is supposed to make the possessor all powerful. In order to buy some time and save his crew Quark lies and tells Zorgon the IT is on the asteroid Rumbar.
In the meantime, Princess Libido saves Ficus from being killed. The Princess agrees to save the crew provided he agrees to marry her. Ficus agrees.
When they reach to asteroid Zorgon has Quark and the Bettys (Cyb and Tricia Barnstable) staked out on the asteroid to be eaten by a Lizagoth. They are rescued by The Baron (Bruce M. Fischer). The Baron and his men believe the legend of IT and are waiting for the portent to come true revealing where IT is. When they see the sign, they follow it and find a small box containing a crystal. With the crystal Quark believes that he is now invincible and returns to the ship to battle Zorgon.
As a continuation of Part 1 the episode follows the general tone and characterization of the Flash Gordon serials. Included among Zorgon and Libido is a character called The Baron that resembles Prince Vultan.
Gene/Jean does a Vulcan nerve pinch on a couple of Zorgon’s guards.
“Quark” won an Emmy nomination for costume design for designer Grady Hunt. Hunt created the costumes for the "All the Emperor's Quasi-Norms, Part 2".
