For his heroics in New York City battling sharks, Fin Shepard (Ian Zerling) is in Washington DC to accept an award. The Presidential Medal of Freedom. Suddenly a sharknado hits Washington. Fin and POTUS (Mark Cuban) work together to try to save Washington from the sharks. The sharknado stops as suddenly as it started.
Fin's wife April (Tara Reid), his daughter Claudia (Ryan Newman)and his mother-in-law May (Bo Derek)are in Orlando, Florida at Universal Orlando. Fin is afraid that they may be in danger should more sharknados manifest. He flies to Orlando to be with them. On his way there, he encounters a "fognado". The fognado is stopped by Nova Clarke Cassie Scerbo, Fin's former employee. Nova is now a sharknado storm tracker.
Things have gotten worse for our hero. In the first movie Fin battled sharks in LA. In the second movie it was New York City. Now he has to protect the entire eastern seaboard from Washington DC to Orlando, Florida. Now there is the fear that the entire eastern seaboard will form into a giant sharknado storm and devastate the entire eastern portion of the United States. Reporters are calling it "Feast Coast".
Chainsaw in hand, Fin and a small band of mercenaries must find out why these sharknados are happening and what to do about them. Apparently it has something to do with the space shuttle. That’s all I’m sayin’.
"Sharknado 3" was released in 2015 and was again directed by Anthony C. Ferrante. OK, we’re back on the roller coaster. First, who knew you could take down the White House by throwing sharks at it? Second, I’m ok with Mark Cuban as president, but Ann Coulter as VP? Shudder!!! Also just where would we be if Matt Lauer and Al Roker were not there to keep us informed? And Frankie Muniz is one tenacious son of a gun. Everyone that could not be in Sharknado 2 lined up to be in Sharknado 3. Again are the homages to other films.
Extra cheeze has been added. I’m talking a giant wheel of Gorgonzola. Add to that a heaping helping of, what else, sharks. Oh, and don’t forget to add some more cheeze. Really. I mean you’re gonna groan from all of it. But that’s what it’s all about. Right?
"Petunia" the stuffed opossum is once again making an appearance. You can catch her inside a cabinet in Nova's truck. Anthony Ferrante's cameo is as NASA Launch Director Marymee.
