A nest of snakelets
Dying billionaire Murdoch, played by John Rhys-Davies, is looking for a miracle cure to cancer. He has scientists use the blood orchid serum on anacondas. Apparently they are the only animals immune to the toxicity of the serum. The results are giant anacondas with an attitude problem that now have a spike in their tale and can spit acid. Add to that they escape from their secret facility. Add to that the female of the two is pregnant. What results is a lot of dead people and goat. Things are very bloody and there are body parts aplenty.
Now a group of mercenaries, headed by a gentleman named Hammett (David Hasselhoff), is trying to track them down through the countryside. Along with him is Amanda Hayes, a scientist played by Crystal Allen and a pinhead supervisor Pinkus, played by Ryan McCluskey. Everyone has a different agenda and you don’t know who is really a good guy and who is really a bad guy.
The plot is different from the last two movies. The only thing they have in common is the big snake. Although 3 does reference the blood orchid.
You can see more of the snakes in this movie, not that the graphics are any better. Don’t think for a moment that there is anything special about the acting, dialogue, special effects or anything else. Just take in the carnage cause that’s what you paid for. I thought the story was a little better than the last one but not much. After all this is the first Anaconda movie that went directly to video so it is what it is. A big snake movie with a lot of gore and I still enjoyed it.
